Maëlenn Aufray

I am an Associate Professor at the CIRIMAT laboratory and the ENSIACET engineering school.
My research interests lie primarily in the adhesion and adherence of polymers, adherence testing, and the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of interfaces. I often collaborate with the TACCOS team (Toulouse Adhesion, Cohesion, and Structural Adhesive Bonding).
My Pop'science activities (mostly in french)
In addition to my teaching and research, I enjoy sharing my knowledge and introducing my profession to a wider audience through various outreach activities. This section is therefore mostly in French. This section is therefore mostly in French.
- Short video (3 minutes) presented by Zineb Fritah: The Influence of epoxy-amine/metal interphase formation on adherence in painted and glued systems.
Ongoing projects and news
- Amine-METal Interphase in epoxy adhesive SysTems (AMETIST) project has been granted funding by the French National Research Agency (ANR), and is supported by the Aerospace Valley European competitiveness cluster. Antoine Dubernard is working on the AMETIST project as a PhD student.
- The 'Understanding the mechanisms of interphase formation in anodised aluminium/paint systems' project (COCA) has been granted funding by the IRT M2P (Institute for Technological Research into Materials, Metallurgy and Processes). Maxime Blanc is working as a PhD student on the COCA project.
- 'Functionalised and adherent biomimetic apatite coating for PEEK implants' (Ca-PEEK) is an ANR-funded project.
- Superimposed Mechanical-Environmental Ageing of Polymeric Hybrid Laminates (CDL-AGE POL) is a project funded by the Christian Doppler Forschungsgeshellschaft (CDG), an Austrian association.
Habilitation
I defended my habilitation thesis, entitled "Formation of interphases and their influence on adhesion in painted and glued systems" (in French: "Formation des interphases et influence sur l'adhérence dans les systèmes collés ou peints"), on 24 May 2023.- French thesis (pdf). Slides (in french) are available upon request.
- English thesis (pdf).
